Overview
This website is operated by Ethan Dirks Inc. DBA Puzzle Punks (hereby referred to as we, us, our, I, me, and my). By using this website, you agree to the conditions set forth in this policy.
Introduction
We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This privacy policy tells you about the types of information that may be collected from you while you use Puzzle Punks, how that information will be used, who can see it, and your rights to review and request changes to it.
Puzzle Punks consists of three distinct platforms, each with different data practices:
The Site (playpuzzlepunks.com) — our teacher-facing website, hosted on Shopify. Used for shopping, the teacher portal, and general information. No students interact with the site.
The Game (game.playpuzzlepunks.com) — our student-facing game platform, hosted on Cloudflare. This is where students play Puzzle Punks escape rooms.
The Mailing List — our email communications, operated through MailerLite. Educators may voluntarily subscribe to receive product updates and promotions.
The Site
The site is hosted on Shopify and is used exclusively by teachers and educators. When you make a purchase, Shopify collects standard e-commerce data (name, email address, billing and shipping address, and payment information) to process your order. Shopify may also collect non-personally identifiable information such as browser type, navigation patterns, and time spent on pages. Shopify sets its own cookies as part of normal platform operations; see Shopify's cookie policy for details.
We do not sell or share teacher purchase data with any third parties. It is used solely to fulfill orders and improve the Puzzle Punks experience.
The Game
The game is hosted on Cloudflare and is the only part of Puzzle Punks that students interact with. Puzzle Punks does not collect, store, or process any student data. Students access escape rooms via anonymous access PINs with no accounts, no login, and no personal information required. The game does not use cookies, local storage, or session storage.
Cloudflare may process standard server logs (such as IP addresses and timestamps) as part of normal content delivery. This data is not accessible to Puzzle Punks and is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Because Puzzle Punks collects no personal information from any user of the game, including children, COPPA compliance obligations do not apply.
The Mailing List
Educators may voluntarily subscribe to our mailing list to receive product updates, promotions, and educational content. We collect only the email address provided at signup. Our mailing list is operated through MailerLite; see MailerLite's privacy policy for details on how they handle data.
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link included in every email. We do not sell or share subscriber information with any third parties. No student data is collected through the mailing list.
Links to Other Sites
If you click on links to third-party sites, you will be taken to websites we do not control. This policy does not apply to the privacy practices of those websites. Read the privacy policy of other websites carefully. We are not responsible for these third-party sites.
Changes & Contact
This privacy policy is effective as of 8/07/2023. Last updated 3/24/2026. Changes to this privacy policy will be posted here.
